Program Coordinator - College of Nursing

The UC College of Nursing is seeking a time limited, full-time Program Coordinator to support the "Caregiver Self-Management Needs through Skill-Building" project (UC IRB Study # 2016-8508) and ongoing research projects planned and conducted by Dr. Tamilyn Bakas, PhD, RN, FAHA, FAAN, Professor and Jane E. Procter Endowed Chair.

The primary purpose of the Caregiver Self-Management Needs through Skill-Building project is to make improvements to a program that addresses the needs and concerns of family caregivers of stroke survivors. The Telephone Assessment and Skill-Building Kit (TASK II) for stroke family caregivers is a program that involves a mailed TASK II Resource Guide and 8 weekly telephone calls from a nurse, with a booster session a month later. TASK II is being revised to a TASK III version that uses various modes of technology (TASK III website, eBook, USB, videoconferencing), and that provides a stronger emphasis on caregiver health. Outcome data are collected by telephone at baseline, 8 weeks (end of intervention), and 12 weeks (after booster).

Additional projects being planned and conducted by Dr. Tamilyn Bakas address needs and concerns of stroke survivors and their family caregivers, the use of a HiLois app to enhance communication between persons with mild cognitive impairment and their family members, and the use of robotics to support health promotion and chronic illness management in older adults.

This is a time limited full-time position coordinating the Caregiver Self-Management Needs Through Skill-Building (Grant) and other projects planned and conducted by Dr. Tamilyn Bakas.

Job Summary: The College of Nursing is searching for a Program Coordinator who will be responsible for administrative processes as they relate to assisting Dr. Tamilyn Bakas (Principal Investigator) with day to day operations of the Caregiver Self-Management Needs through Skill-Building project, as well as additional projects being planned and conducted.

Duties: Assist the Principal Investigator and research team members with administrative responsibilities including: management of project documents, budget management, data management, ordering and tracking study materials, filing, reporting, creating agendas, taking minutes, scheduling of meetings and rooms, coordination of schedules, website maintenance, technology support, recruitment, screening, data collection, hiring, training, and supervision of research staff, among other duties as assigned. The Program Coordinator will serve as the communication hub for Dr. Bakas and the TASK III team members, as well as research team members from other projects being planned and conducted. The Program Coordinator will perform related duties based on departmental need.

Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor degree with one (1)year of experience; -OR- Associate degree with three (3) years of experience; -OR- five (5) years of experience. Experience must be in program coordination.

This position will be a professional position paid at an hourly rate.
