Degree and area of specialization:
Bachelor's Degree Required/Master's Degree preferred, preferably in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Must have strong organizational, analytical and writing skills and possess the ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms with faculty, researchers, and staff at all levels, including grant and funding sponsors. This position requires a significant degree of organization and face-to-face interaction with research faculty, staff, students, campus administrative departments, deans, granting organizations and both federal and non-federal research sponsors. Prefer at least two years' experience in research and/or grant proposal development, administration, and management. Knowledge of federal, non-federal, State and University policies and regulations is desirable. Experience editing and reviewing research documents, awards, and contracts desirable. Experience with UW and federal systems (WISPER, Cayuse, Fastlane, NSPIRES, WISER) preferred.

Position Summary:
This position supports the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering and several of its affiliated research centers with proposal writing and development and grant administration. This position will work directly with researchers on proposal planning, development, implementation, and post-award oversight and management of research awards.

Primary duties include assisting faculty in developing proposal budgets; submitting proposals utilizing various electronic interfaces; developing and maintaining a system for tracking and monitoring research awards, providing financial oversight and assisting with reporting on research awards; and providing technical assistance. This position requires the ability to work with faculty to develop research proposals. This position also requires a thorough knowledge of project administration, as well as personal initiative and accountability to meet deadlines and workload demands with minimal supervision.

The individual may also be responsible for review and approval of department financial transactions such as procurement, cost transfers, requisitions, travel reimbursement, etc.
