Summary of Job Duties
This is a 9-month, tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank. We seek applicants who demonstrate the ability to work with diverse populations as well as contribute to the diversity of the campus and who are well prepared to teach courses in a cutting- - edge and accredited graduate program.
We seek applicants with research interests in one or more of the following areas: rural communities; multi-generational families; aging populations; military social work; innovative engagement, assessment, intervention, and evaluation in practice across the life course; child welfare; health disparities; food insecurity, economic justice, intimate partner violence, or criminal and juvenile justice.
The successful candidate would teach in both the BSW and MSW programs and across at least two curricular domains ( HBSE , practice, policy, and research). Faculty are expected to teach weekdays and evenings and should be open to teaching in online formats.

  • Doctorate earned from a nationally recognized and accredited institution in social work or related field conferred by the time of appointment
  • MSW degree from a CSWE -accredited program conferred by the time of appointment
  • Eligibility for Arkansas state licensure ( LMSW or LCSW )
  • Commitment to the active pursuit of a research agenda leading to refereed scholarship, professional presentations, and internal and external funding
  • Strong interest in and a professional commitment to the preparation of professional social workers
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and strengths-based perspective on collegiality


Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated strong research agenda (such as publishing or receiving funding) and practice orientation
  • Ability to teach across at least three curricular domains and who are trained on at least one online teaching platform
  • At least two years of post MSW practice experience
  • Proficient skills using a data analysis software program including, but not limited to, SPSS , STAT / SAS , NVivo, etc.
  • Experience teaching using an online platform, such as Blackboard or Moodle
  • Excellent communication skills necessary to perform duties
  • Record of effective interdisciplinary collaboration in research and/or teaching
