The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) invites applications for a Program Manager. Reporting to the Department Head, the Program Manager will plan, design, evaluate, modify and oversee programs within the department.

Primary Duties:
  • Curriculum Management and Development
    • Maintain and generate eCurriculum programs and courses
    • Assist Undergrad Curriculum chair
    • Assist faculty in advertising and student eligibility of EECS courses for non-CEAS
    • Assist in creation of interdisciplinary MEng/MS graduate certificates across the college


  • Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc. (ABET)
    • Assisting with administrative departmental ABET processes and document/material submissions
    • Document Undergraduate Curriculum Committee minutes
    • Maintain documentation system
    • Conduct feedback sessions in the PD2050 courses and/or summarize collected surveys


  • Student Administration
    • ACCEND planning and recruitment
    • Advise, track and certify CEAS minors
    • Collaborate with staff in Department of Engineering Education for retention and integration purposes


  • Chongqing University/ Joint Engineering Co-op Institute (CQU/JCI)
    • Assist with student integration during senior year on UC campus
    • Serve as departmental administrative liaison for any new efforts and/or offerings, as well as undergraduate student groups
    • Collaborate with the Department Head on new documents or presentations to be done at UC or CQU about the existing or new programs


  • Course Planning and Management:
    • Oversee course scheduling
    • Balance Undergraduate/Graduate course enrollments
    • Collaborate with Department Head on teaching assignment and course planning activities
    • Grant graduate course permissions
    • Manage the 5000/6000 level course planning


  • Graduate Programs
    • Manage the Data Science and Cyber certificate programs
    • Serve as liaison for Graduate Student Association (GSA)
    • Serve as liaison for Northrop Grumman; ACCEND student advising to assist departmental faculty
    • Serve as liaison for Biomedical Informatics (BMI) Umbrella Programs between Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) and EECS and provide administrative support for the jointly conducted academic programs
    • Work with faculty to develop an accelerated MS program separate from ACCEND (including program to accommodate JCI students)
    • Provide support duties during development process of new MEng tracks


  • Faculty Research/Development
    • Assist with the operational functions of NSF Center
    • Assist in development of interdisciplinary groups


  • Publicity and Recruitment Efforts
    • Collaborate with faculty and staff to collect and provide information to CEAS Marketing Department for web page content updates
    • Coordinate recruiting events during high-school student visits
    • Coordinate with CEAS Undergraduate Recruiting Office to ensure departmental recruiting materials for undergraduates are up-to-date
    • Increase alumni contact for development of funding for senior design project
    • Support the college initiative to increase enrollment of female students in UG program by coordinating the development of videos with students and faculty
    • Scholarship development
    • Organize symposia, conference, seminar, short courses, etc.


  • Other duties as assigned may include, but is not limited to:
    • Manage EECS information email requests
    • Maintain departmental ListServs
    • Plan faculty retreats
    • Develop a system for analysis of faculty applicants
    • Conduct focus groups with Undergraduate and Graduate students to aid in assessment of courses for ABET and Grad review purposes


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors' degree with three (3) years' experience; -OR- Associate's degree with five (5) years' experience; -OR- seven (7) years' experience.
