Dean of the School of Architecture

Faculty, students, and administrators aspire to welcome a future leader into the School of Architecture who will, through their character and experience, enrich with new perspectives the school's existing initiatives. As chief academic and administrative officer, the Dean should champion students and faculty in an academic environment that joins practitioner and non-practitioner knowledge. With a passion for architecture and an understanding of its related fields, the dean should also develop, implement, and promote jointly conceived ideas and future goals, while meeting the pragmatic and cultural needs of the school and its programs.

The School of Architecture comprises four departments offering the five-year undergraduate architecture program and graduate programs in numerous architecture, design and planning fields. Additionally, the school houses several faculty research initiatives and collaborates richly with other Institute Centers (Pratt Center for Community Development; Spatial Analysis and Visualization Initiative; Consortium for Research and Robotics). Its 26 full-time and 230 part-time faculty are distinguished scholars and practitioners in their fields.

Located on Pratt's historic 25-acre campus in the culturally diverse neighborhood of Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, Pratt is an internationally recognized school of architecture, art, design, and information science, which draws students from diverse cultural and geographic backgrounds. We are committed to advancing diversity and inclusion in our curriculum as well as in the ranks of our faculty, students and staff and seek applicants who can contribute to the furtherance of these goals.
