Under general supervision from the Director of Fraternity & Sorority Life, the Program Coordinator for Fraternity & Sorority Life assists in the management, design, and development of Greek community programs. The University of Cincinnati fraternity and sorority community includes an undergraduate Greek population of nearly 3,200 students comprised of 43 Greek-letter organizations (11 Panhellenic sororities, 22 IFC fraternities, 7 National Pan-Hellenic organizations, and 3 multicultural organizations) and 3 honorary organizations.
Primary Duties
- Provide direction and advising to the National Panhellenic Council and its 10 member chapters and one affiliate chapter
- Advise the Panhellenic Recruitment Team, overseeing Recruitment Guide selection and training, marketing, and NPC Formal Recruitment
- Serve as a liaison to inter/nationally affiliated sorority HQs and professional staff, including meeting and communicating with traveling, leadership, and chapter development consultants
- Oversee Council Program initiatives including Greek Week
- Assist with the implementation of a leadership development program for fraternity and sorority undergraduate leaders including Emerging Greek Leaders, the New Member Welcome, Executive Leadership Conference and various council retreats
- Assist in the coordination of training on risk management/harm reduction and hazing prevention
- Assist in the design and implementation of assessment mechanisms which elevate the effectiveness of programs and services offered by the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life
- Assist in the maintenance of a community calendar, communications and marketing materials, including digital and print publications (website, social media platforms, etc.)
- Serve on university committees as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with one (1) year experience; -OR- Associate's degree with three (3) years experience; -OR- five (5) years experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree preferred in college student personnel or other relevant discipline
- Solid foundation in student development theory and student learning theory, as well as their application to professional practice in higher education and student affairs
- One year full-time experience in fraternity and sorority life
- Strong advising skills and demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with fraternity and sorority governing councils, executive boards and chapters, as well as alumni volunteers
- Demonstrated experience working with inter/national fraternity and sorority offices to help resolve issues related to local chapters
- Ability and willingness to function as a member of a team
- Commitment to continued personal and professional development
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
This position will be a professional position paid at an hourly rate.
