The Department of Chemistry at the University of Cincinnati is currently accepting applications for the position of Financial Administrator 2. In this position the successful candidate works with other staff members in the department to perform a variety of financial and human resource transactions in support of the business and HR operations for the Department of Chemistry. The position duties include:

POSITION DUTIES

• Serving as the primary department timekeeping approver for non-exempt department staff and student workers
• Serving as department contact and resource for HR related questions such as Onboarding, Health Insurance, OPERS , etc.
• Creating, reviewing and submitting Personnel Change Requests (PCR's) as needed
• During the fiscal year, run various reports to check labor/stipend/award expenditures against budget; monitor account balances; and take appropriate action to resolve problems and prevent deficit balances in accounts assigned
• Manage the allocation of available funds for graduate assistantships and assigning the appropriate funding source. Annual expenditures > $1M
• Processing department appointments and Domestic and International hiring actions for Graduate Assistants, Student Workers, Post-Doctoral Fellows, Research positions, Visiting Scholars and Staff positions
• Assist the Business Manager by tracking internally funded allocations such as Graduate Enhancement
• Manage the allocation of graduate student scholarships
• Manage summer school and adjunct faculty allocations
• Supporting the Graduate and Undergraduate Program Directors with various tasks such as class ordering
• Cross train with other staff and serve as backup for various functions
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree with two (2) years' of experience; - OR- Associate's degree and four (4) years' of experience; -OR- six (6) years' of experience; degree must be in accounting or related field with related accounting experience.
• Incumbent must possess the business/fiscal experience to be fully proficient in performing most or all work assignments
