Job Purpose
Decision making, planning, management and support of College of Engineering technology infrastructure.
Essential Functions
Technology support for faculty, staff, and students. Project management and purchase consultation of computing technology. Updating, maintaining, and deployment of both computing hardware and software in an administrative, educational, and classroom capacity. Support includes in-depth analysis, reporting, and troubleshooting of technology in these areas. Management, scheduling, and supervision of student workers. Working in conjunction with ITS and following pre-established workflows and procedures. Limited support of research and laboratory hardware/software technology.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in computer science, management information systems, computer engineering, or related field, OR 60 college/university credit hours and five years relevant experience. In-depth technical knowledge and familiarity with programming, deployment, and analysis techniques for operating systems such as Mac OS X, Windows, iOS, Android, Linux/Unix systems, in addition to common software applications. Demonstrated expertise in custom or packaged hardware and software. Superior analysis capabilities and outstanding customer service and support skills. Experience with Microsoft Windows management using Active Directory and Group Policy.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Network+, A+, Linux+, Microsoft, Mac OS X. Three years of support in a higher education institution. Three years of support experience in an engineering-related field. Familiarity with engineering specific software, management of VDI, M.S. SharePoint, Linux/Windows Scripting, and SCCM.
Work Hours
Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Additional hours if/when needed.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Commensurate with education and experience; Administrative Pay Grade AD45.
