Office Manager- Law School Admissions Department

Job Description:

This position has primary responsibility for managing the J.D. first-year and transfer applicant pools, totaling over 3,000 applicants annually, and managing the operations of the law school's Admissions Office. The position reports to the Assistant Dean for Admissions & Recruitment in the Law School.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for all prospective students and applicants, conveying the student-focused approach a student would experience should they matriculate at St. John's Law. This will include managing communications with prospective students and applicants over the phone, in-person and by email regarding application completion and general inquiries.


  • Complete applications in the admissions database. Collect and track numerous separate documents submitted electronically and/or in hard copy for thousands of applicants annually. Transfer data from ACES2 to Banner and other University systems/departments.


  • Collect and manage seat deposits in UIS; serve as the liaison with various offices on campus to our admitted students regarding deposits.


  • Aid in logistical preparation for numerous open houses and admitted student events throughout the year.


  • Manage and submit expense reports for the Assistant Dean.


  • Manage a part-time technical assistant and several law student workers who serve as office support and tour guides.


  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.


  • Minimum of at least three years' professional experience is preferred.


  • Possess excellent technological, operational and customer service skills, with experience in Banner system preferred.


  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.


  • Occasional over-time hours required
