The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Cincinnati is currently accepting applications for a Program Coordinator position to support a newly awarded NSF ITEST grant centered on increasing diversity in STEM and increasing student and teacher experiences and competency in the technology-rich fields of biology and engineering. Specifically, a trans-disciplinary model of STEM learning will be developed on the cutting edge of mutual inspiration between biology and engineering - the sensory guidance of behavior in biological organisms and autonomous robots. The program will include a summer program for high school students and in-service secondary education teachers; a college course and workshops; paid high school student internships. The Program Coordinator is responsible for completing academic and administrative duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with one (1) year of experience; -OR- Associate's degree with three (3) years of experience; -OR- five (5) years of experience. Experience must be in program coordination.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MS/MEd or PhD/EdD degree in biology, engineering and/or science education
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Detail-oriented, independent individual who can manage time efficiently

  • High aptitude for learning new tasks quickly and problem solving

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task

  • Ability to work in a team setting
