Job Summary:
The Facilities Scheduling and Event Coordinator serves as the initial point of contact for building use requests by faculty and staff and for room scheduling and event planning for non-academic program uses of Signe Skott Cooper Hall. The individual plans, organizes, facilitates and coordinates events such as tours, receptions, non-class lectures and non-SoN meetings in Cooper Hall interior and exterior spaces. The position develops estimates for charges using established criteria and manages vendor contracts related to events. The position also works as needed with others to resolve customer concerns. The position provides data management and generates pre-and post-event reports as directed, and recommends strategies and practices to improve future events.
The position requires the ability to work collaboratively with co-workers, faculty, staff, students, and the public. Knowledge of and the ability to apply relevant university and state policies and procedures, guidelines, rules and regulations to facility use coordination are required. The successful applicant will possess skills in planning meetings, providing customer service, managing assigned projects, solving problems, and managing many details simultaneously. Strong written and oral communications skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team, are also required.

Schedule Comment:
Mon - Fri 8:30am - 5:00pm

This position is required to occasionally work outside of standard campus hours. Occasionally this position will require, early morning, evening and/or weekend hours to cover special events. Expectations are that staff flex their hours when possible to cover these hours and maintain a 40 hour work week. Prior authorization is required by unit supervisor to work any hours exceeding 40 per scheduled work week.
