Job Description:

The widely-recognized and respected Department of Graphic Design offers the BFA and BA degrees, as well as a minor. BFA graduates have a job placement rate of 95+%. Alumni are employed at major advertising agencies, design firms and corporate design offices throughout the US, Europe, Central and South America, and Asia. There are approximately 120 undergraduate graphic design majors in the program. Upon filling this position, the program will have six, permanent faculty positions with generous adjunct support from the vibrant Fort Worth/Dallas design and advertising community. Faculty are all recognized design practitioners as well as educators.

The Department of Graphic Design is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).

Position Description

Supervising introductory-level technology classes offered through the Department. This includes teaching three sections each semester (excluding summer), committee work, advising undergraduate majors, establishing and maintaining curriculum for all sections with the advice and consent of the faculty, supervising and serving as liaison with adjunct faculty covering the same material in other class sections. Class sections are small, usually limited to 15 students. Currently the Department provides instructional support for the Department of Interior Design and Fashion Merchandising.
Qualifications

BFA in Graphic Design or a closely-related field required. Five years' full-time unsupervised, college-level teaching experience required. Five years' full-time professional graphic design experience required. Thorough working knowledge of Macintosh computers in graphic design and interactive media applications required.

Rank and Salary

Instructor, non tenure-track. This is a permanent position with a renewable contract. The contract period is initially one year, can be extended to three years following the first year of service. Salary and benefits are highly competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits for domestic partners are available.
