Advertised Salary:
Minimum $50,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications

Degree and area of specialization:
Bachelor's degree in personnel/HR management, organizational psychology, business/management or related field preferred OR equivalent experience.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
* Minimum two years of experience working in human resource and/or related business
services, at UW preferred. Prefix is dependent on relevant work experience.
* Knowledge of policies and laws related to Human Resources; UW policies, procedures, and systems strongly preferred.
* Experience and knowledge managing human resource activities in a complex organization.
* Demonstrated experience and commitment to working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Experience with developing and sustaining collaborative work relationships.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Experience with utilizing data and generating reports.
* Commitment to diversity, inclusion and engagement applied to areas of HR and customer service.

Preferred:
* An ideal candidate will have a strong interest, education background and/or experience in employee relations or previous role in human resources with employee relations experience.

Position Summary:
Under the general supervision and direction of the Assistant Dean for Human Resources, the Recruitment and Retention Specialist serves as a resource for the School of Education. As a member of a team of HR professionals in the School of Education, this position is responsible for areas including workforce relations; recruitment, assessment, and selection; and performance management program. This position will have responsibilities in various workforce relations functions, serve as one of the accommodation and FMLA confidential representatives/coordinators for the School of Education, provides high-level support and direction for high-level searches, consultation for recruitments, conduct assessments and audits on recruitment efforts, provide leadership for the (SoE) on-boarding process, and serve as a champion for the performance management development program.

The person in this position must have a collaborative, service oriented approach to facilitate and foster effective professional working relationships across the school and University. They will need to understand and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information with professionalism and discretion. They must be able to balance working autonomously and as a part of a team to contribute to the effective and efficient day-to-day service, to the greater School of Education goals and mission, and work with a diverse population.
