Degree and area of specialization:
Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance preferred, or equivalent work experience.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Minimum of 2 or more years of work in a accounts receivable area with a diverse customer base
Proven ability to improve processes for external and internal customers
Excellent communication, issue resolution skills and teamwork
Demonstrated experience in computer systems and familiarity with system updates and upgrades
Preference given to knowledge of UW policies for cash management practices, business processes and WISDM/WISER
Demonstrated experience with external customer service, peer training, invoicing systems, data management, and customer contract requirements.

Position Summary:
This position is part of the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene Accounts Receivable/Revenue team managing approximately $40 million annually in charges. WSLH is a fee for service laboratory serving the public health needs with clinical, environmental, and occupational testing services. The incumbent will perform a wide range of duties for our contract management area to include; customer service, contract and database management, reporting, invoicing, problem resolution, and payment posting. Emphasis for this positon will be contract management activities from a wide array of federal, state, university, private and UW Madison customers. The duties for this position will require good judgment, initiative, organization and customer service skills in preparation for the follow through of contract document administration and activity.
The successful applicant will have a record of productivity and self-motivation, working collaboratively, advancing projects independently, updating and/or building new workflow processes, attention to detail, seeking creative and innovative solutions to persistent challenges and communicating effectively with WSLH managers, administration and customer service staff as well as state, federal, university and private clients.

Additional Information:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc)
Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
Knowledge or the ability to learn and apply University procedures and regulations relating to cash management, contracts, procurement, accounting systems, etc.,
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent judgment and independent decision making skills in a high profile environment
Skill and ability to successfully work in a team environment with individuals in a variety of capacities, including all levels of management, technical, customer service, and general public.
Ability to work under tight deadline and constantly changing demands
Knowledge of pre and post award management
Experience working with multiple and various databases to perform work.
Skill in project management
Excellent customer service skills with internal and external customers
