Demonstrated skills as a team builder and problem solver for work groups. Ability to advocate for important issues using effective written and oral communication skills. Human resource leadership experience is preferred.

Position Summary:
This is a senior leadership position in the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH), with responsibility for administrative functions within the Dean's Office and for oversight of all human resources functions in the SMPH and across the employee life cycle, including recruitment, appointment, orientation, promotion, and retention; administration of annual performance evaluations; administration of leave programs and payroll, benefits, and compensation programs; administration of School and University policies and procedures related to personnel matters; employee relations; and the creation and delivery of appropriate professional development programs for administrative employees. Oversight of employee relations includes direct involvement in areas of significant risk for the school, such as grievances, legal actions, and faculty performance management issues.
