Degree and area of specialization:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field required.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
-At least 5 years of progressively responsible professional financial management experience in higher education setting, preferably within the UW-System.
-Strong skills in leadership, organization, prioritization, and general professionalism.
-Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively with faculty and staff to develop and interpret policy and to communicate and interact with internal and external regulatory groups.
-Experience participating in, and leading committee activities and business meetings.
-An outgoing and energetic service-oriented approach to management is desirable.
-Experience with spreadsheets and databases is required.

Position Summary:
The Assistant Dean position is responsible for the direct management of all day-to-day fiscal and research post-award administrative activities within the Business Services unit of UW-Madison's College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS). This includes supervising staff, developing fiscal policies, budget development, and communication.
