Essential Functions:
- Greet and assists customers within the bookstore to ensure their experience at the bookstore is informative, efficient and effective.
- Tabulate the customer's purchases using the cash register or the Point-of-Sale System.
- Answer the telephone to respond to inquiries, direct the caller to other employees or take a message.
- Balance the cash drawer as required and described within the Bookstore Procedure Manual.
- Interact with local vendors for newspapers, soft drinks, and snacks by providing accurate information to help form orders for merchandise that enters the store.
- Cleans the cash register area as well as the store to maintain a business decor.
- Follow procedures for credit cards and checks in order to ensure no fraudulent use.

Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Two years of related work experience as well as experience working with a POS System
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- (2) years Retail experience preferred
- Experience in an institution of Higher Education
