Specific areas of interest include, but are not limited to: i) AC electric machine controls including variable-speed flux, torque, speed, and position control, real-time state and parameter estimation, and self-sensing control techniques including zero speed operation; ii) power converter controls for grid-connected or vehicle electrification applications; iii) power converter or electric machine design with a focus on control or optimization; and iv) physical integration of power converters with the controls, electric machines, and/or energy storage.

Candidates who transcend traditional boundaries between mechanical engineering and electrical engineering to address power electronics and/or electric machine controls applications with a multi-disciplinary focus are especially encouraged.
