Director, Event Management
Middlebury College seeks a solutions-oriented Director of Event Management to seek entrepreneurial and innovative ways to support events on Middlebury's Vermont locations, including the main campus in Middlebury, the Bread Loaf campus, and the Snow Bowl. The Director of Event Management is responsible for the overall vision, strategy, organization, and leadership of the Department of Event Management; fosters strong and collaborative working relationships with event service providers; develops and implements administrative policies and procedures to facilitate effective event planning and identifies ways to generate revenue through events.
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business administration, management, marketing, or related area; Master's degree preferred. 10 years relevant experience, preferably in higher education; 7 - 10 years' experience managing an event operation in higher education required; 5 - 10 years' experience in personnel management; and experience with developing marketing and business plans highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills; superior oral and written communication skills, and excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
