Degree and area of specialization:
Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related field required.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
At least 4 years of direct, hands-on experience in modern liquid-chromatography mass spectrometry-based proteomics and metabolomics required. Candidates with extensive experience in clinical sample handling are preferred.

Position Summary:
The Research Scientist will work mainly on clinical proteomics projects and serve as a collaborator and facilitator to advance the University of Wisconsin Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (UW ICTR). The successful candidate is expected to design research methodologies, identify research gaps and problems, conduct research, and publish and present results for publications. In addition, the individual will provide daily supervision and training for users who are using the Human Proteomics Program Core facility. The Research Scientist is also expected to oversee other user projects and train users as required. The Research Scientist is also expected to operate and maintain the high-resolution mass spectrometers in the Human Proteomics Program Core Facility.
