COORDINATOR OF FINANCIAL AID SERVICES

Tidewater Community College invites applications for the position of Coordinator of Financial Aid Services on our Chesapeake campus.

The largest provider of higher education and workforce development services in Hampton Roads, TCC serves some 35,000 students annually. With four campuses and regional centers for the visual arts, performing arts, health professions, advanced technology, and automotive technology, TCC is a comprehensive institution offering more than 150 programs, including a full complement of college transfer and career and technical education, workforce training and development services, and general community enrichment and outreach.

This position provides the leadership and management for the campus-based financial aid programs and services that assist students in understanding and meeting the financial obligations for their education at Tidewater Community College. The position serves to coordinate the implementation of federal, state, and college financial regulations, programs, and procedures; supervises and is accountable for the daily operations of a comprehensive financial aid office; and is responsible for oversight of training personnel regarding the financial aid application process. The Coordinator is a member of the college's Financial Aid Management Team, collaborating with other campuses and the Central Financial Aid Office. The position reports directly to the Portsmouth Campus Dean of Student Services as a key member of the campus enrollment management team. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated experience and expertise with local, state, and federal financial aid regulations, policies, and requirements. Demonstrated ability to coordinate office functions and experience in supervising assigned staff to a) build a highly effective working team; b) make first-rate oral and written presentations including data collection, analysis, and report compilation; c) organize, analyze, and innovate; and d) develop cooperative relationships with a diverse array of individuals. A record of successful leadership and management in a higher education setting, preferably in a community college environment. Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a team member committed to the mission of a community college. Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate programs and services. Experience in training and directing personnel to perform their duties in an accurate, effective, and courteous manner. Knowledge of college recruitment, admissions, and retention services. Demonstrated skills in problem solving and resolution. Demonstrated computer competency in Microsoft Office, an enterprise-based comprehensive college student information system, and various financial aid online resources. Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university, preferably in a discipline related to financial aid, student services, or educational leadership. SALARY: Expected salary range of $62,270 to $94,279. Actual salary will be determined based on individual qualifications and experience with consideration for internal alignment factors. The college offers an excellent benefits package.
