Advertised Salary:
Minimum $42,167 Maximum $48,333 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications

Degree and area of specialization:
Bachelor's degree in education, art education, art history or related field with two (2) years experience in museum education or curation required; or closely equivalent education/experience.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
At least two (2) years of arts or museum teaching required.

License or Certificate:


Position Summary:
The Assistant Curator of Education is an integral member of the Museum Education team. Working under the general supervision of the Curator of Education, this individual helps oversee educational programs for the Chazen Museum of Art to include educational tours, development of educational material, and planning and coordination of public lectures and educational events. The Assistant Curator of Education is both the public face of the Chazen Museum of Art for many multigenerational audiences and a vital behind-the-scenes support staff person.

Experience with expanding K-12 outreach including working with educators to develop curriculum-connectd experiences in the Museum, professional development opportunities, or other management of K-12 tour program to include processing tour requests and scheduling docents.

Experience in designing non-traditional museum experiences for multigenerational audiences to include teambuilding activites, "hacked" tours or other examples.

Experience in arts or museum teaching.

Experience working collaboratively with diverse groups of people both within and ouside the Museum.
