Assistant To - Academic Personnel

The Office of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs & Provost is looking for an Assistant To who seeks to support an integral academic office at the university. Under the supervision of the Vice Provost for Academic Personnel, this position will support the administrative functions of the Office of Academic Personnel.This position will also support the University's mission and strategic direction, Next Lives Here.

A representative sample of the job duties of the Assistant To include, among others:
  • Support Responsibilities: Keep and track Academic Personnel in-box, calendars and responsibilities on the shared drive; arrange, prepare and coordinate document submissions to the Board of Trustees for action (e.g., academic & administrative leaves; college and unit reorganizations; unit head appointments; emeritus appointments; and reappointment, promotion and tenure decisions); notify relevant parties subsequent to board action; maintenance of faculty personnel files and logs of personnel transactions; and making travel and lodging arrangements and preparing travel vouchers; and organize meetings
  • Other Administrative Responsibilities: manage the electronic systems for academic leaves, annual performance reviews and reappointment, promotion and tenure; coordinate projects and special assignments as well as the use of facilities and equipment; perform responsible administrative staff functions for a designated university official, frequently of a confidential nature, concerning administrative activities of substantial complexity; interact with students, staff, faculty, external agencies and other university departments
  • Performance of other related duties based on departmental need


Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with three (3) years' experience; -OR- Associate's degree with five (5) years' experience; -OR- seven (7) years' experience. Degree must be in Business Administration or related field. Experience must be related. Demonstrated superior analytical and communication skills. Highly organized and detail oriented.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Office Administration and/or Human Resources; experience in a higher education setting.
