'ASSOCIATE DEAN - BEAZLEY SCHOOL OF NURSING'

Tidewater Community College invites applications for the position of Associate Dean – Beazley School of Nursing.

The largest provider of higher education and workforce development services in Hampton Roads, TCC serves some 35,000 students annually. With four campuses and regional centers for the visual arts, performing arts, health professions, advanced technology, and automotive technology, TCC is a comprehensive institution offering more than 150 programs, including a full complement of college transfer and career and technical education, workforce training and development services, and general community enrichment and outreach.

The Associate Dean for the Beazley School of Nursing reports to the pathway Dean for Health Professions; assists the Dean in management and oversight of curricula in the Health Professions Pathway (e.g., the Pharmacy Technician program and health courses); serves as a member of the campus administrative staff organization and the college-wide Academic and Student Affairs Council; and works collaboratively with other members of the college community to advance the college in accord with its vision, mission, core values, and strategic goals. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated knowledge of community college curricula, instructional practices, and learning outcomes in disciplines related to the division. Demonstrated ability to develop courses and curricula in response to identified needs; experience with concept-based curricula is preferred. Demonstrated ability to coordinate the development and scheduling of programs and courses consistent with college policy. Ability to coordinate instructional and service programs with other areas of the college and responsive to the needs of a diverse student population. Proven ability to work as a team player, appropriately exhibiting a positive attitude and sense of humor. Ability to supervise and evaluate assigned staff while building a highly effective team. Excellent skills in oral and written communication. Ability to interpret and apply college policies and procedures; ability to resolve issues, resulting in mutual respect and tolerance for varying points of view. Knowledge of and ability to utilize administrative and instructional applications of information technology. Demonstrated skill in managing budget, equipment, and other institutional resources. Master's degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university is required; doctorate preferred. Familiarity with regional accreditation standards as well as any applicable specialized accreditation, certification, and licensure requirements, with particular attention to their implications for identifying and assessing student learning outcomes. Formal collegiate teaching experience required, with community college experience preferred. Supervisory experience in an academic setting preferred. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the comprehensive mission of community colleges. Possess a current RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia within 30 days of hire. At least two or more years of full-time clinical experience; emergency, critical care, preferred. Experience with medical simulation technology used in instruction to include patient simulators and related devices.

SALARY: Expected salary range of $62,270 to $94,279. Actual salary will be determined based on individual qualifications and experience with consideration for internal alignment factors. The college offers an excellent benefits package.
