Position Description:

Coaches cheer squad and conducts practice sessions; creates and teaches cheer routines; ensures safety of cheer squad members; supervises cheer squad during athletic events and other activities; enforces rules of the cheer squad; advises team members on academic, personal, emotional and health matters; coordinates fundraising opportunities; and conducts tryouts for new team members.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree required.

Required Qualifications:

At least one year of experience coaching/advising/choreographing cheer teams; AACCA certification or ability to become certified within one month of employment; and experience performing or coaching stunting and tumbling required. Student experience will be considered. Frequent travel and evening and weekend work necessary. Must abide by the rules of the NCAA, the Missouri Valley Conference, the Missouri Valley Football Conference, the Big 12 Conference and the University of Northern Iowa.
