Job Summary:
The Research Animal Resources Center (RARC) is based in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education (OVCRGE) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. RARC is multidisciplinary in scope and provides veterinary and operational support to the UW-Madison animal care and use program. The animal program involves all aspects of animal use for research, teaching, and outreach. RARC has strong research, administrative, and teaching links to the UW-Madison College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS), College and Letters and Science (L&S), School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH), School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM), and other OVCRGE Centers.

This Human Resources Coordinator position reports to the RARC Assistant Director. This position provides a variety of human resources activities in the areas of recruitment, classification, staffing, compensation, and performance management for the Research Animal Resources Center (RARC). This position will act as the benefits coordinator and will deliver and maintain individualized benefit information for RARC employees. This position is also responsible for all aspects of payroll processing at RARC, as well as maintaining payroll records for multiple employment types, including: academic staff, post degree training, student assistants, university staff, temporary employee (TE) staff, and student hourly employees at. This position requires independent judgement, and excellent organizational, problem-solving and customer service skills.
