Duties and Responsibilities:
Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) invites applications for the position of Director of University Marketing. The successful candidate will report to the Chancellor and provide advice and direction to the Senior Staff, Colleges and departments regarding marketing and promotion of the university. This key position will lead all marketing efforts for the university and its departments, promote events on campus, and oversee production of all graphic promotion and marketing materials. Further, the Director of University Marketing will serve as an Auburn University at Montgomery brand ambassador in a host of settings including face-to-face personal interactions at formal and informal events and one-on-one interactions with key AUM stakeholders. Additionally, the Director of University Marketing will also work collaboratively with the Director of University Communications and the Office of Enrollment Management to help expand marketing efforts for coverage of all college events utilizing newspapers and other print materials, radio, television, the Internet and social media. The Director of University Marketing will determine the appropriate mix of all media to promote and represent the University. This will involve directing and coordinating AUM's mass media advertising for the university, such as digital media, print, radio, television, billboards, direct mail, and marketing sponsorships at outside events such as high schools, military bases, etc.

The Director of University Marketing will be responsible for the design, development, content and oversight of the AUM Website and play a leadership role to monitor web-based marketing-related events to ensure they are strategically driven. The director will be responsible for producing and maintaining the style standards set forth in the university Style Guide, and uphold policies that deal with marketing and promotions. In addition to providing direct supervision of staff within the unit, the director will provide oversight of the marketing budget. The Director of University Marketing will work with the campus community to create and implement a comprehensive marketing strategic plan that enhances the university's image in the River Region and beyond.

Position Duties and Responsibilities include:

Provide advice and direction to the Chancellor, Senior Staff, Colleges and departments regarding marketing and promotions.

Serve as Auburn University at Montgomery's (AUM) brand ambassador in a host of settings including face-to-face interactions, at formal events and one-on-one with AUM stakeholders.

Work collaboratively with Enrollment Management to help expand marketing efforts for coverage of all college events utilizing print materials such as newspapers, radio, television and social media.

Coordinate and direct all college marketing and community promotional activities to best represent the university to a variety of audiences in order to maintain/increase student enrollment.

Determine the appropriate mix of all media to promote and represent the University; direct and coordinate mass media advertising for the university, such as digital media, print, radio, television, billboards, direct mail, and marketing sponsorships at outside events such as high schools, colleges and universities, military bases, etc.

Play a leadership role to monitor and update websites, web-based marketing activities and other online communities.

Oversee the planning, implementation and evaluation of marketing-related events to ensure they are strategically driven.

Create and implement a comprehensive marketing strategic plan that enhances the university's image in the River Region and beyond.

Provides oversight of the marketing budget.

Establish and administer policies and procedures within the unit.

Provides direct supervision of staff within the unit.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field is required. Master's degree is preferred. Six (6) years of experience in marketing with at least three years in marketing management is required. Marketing experience in a college/university setting is preferred.

The successful candidate must have demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders, both internally and externally.

The preferred candidate must have a successful track-record of implementing creative marketing strategies while maintaining the highest standards of honesty and integrity.

The successful candidate must have experience managing budgets and in providing direct supervision of staff.
