Treasury Analyst

Job Summary

Eastern Washington University is currently seeking a Treasury Analyst. This exempt position serves a key role in fulfilling the university's responsibility for prudent fiscal management of liquid assets and long term debt to support all campus operations and projects. Reporting to the Controller, the position has primary responsibility for treasury functions including daily cash management and long term cash flow forecasting, investments, debt issuance research and planning, debt service, bond covenant compliance and continuing disclosures, and related financial accounting and reporting.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business management, economics, accounting, or data analytics.



  • 3+ years experience performing treasury functions such as security purchases, bank wire transfers, investment accounting, debt issuance, and/or debt service.



  • Prior experience implementing and/or applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as it pertains to debt and investments, including footnote disclosures.



  • Demonstrated ability to meet mission critical deadlines such as debt service payments, federal tax deposits, and timely cash drawdowns.



  • Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility and/or diversity.




Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Treasury Professional (CTP).



  • Experience working in a university treasury department that manages financial assets.



  • Experience with data visualization and/or data analytics software.



  • Experience using enterprise level financial accounting systems such as Banner, PeopleSoft, or Workday.



  • Experience performing complex bank account reconciliations for large, high dollar value organizations.



  • Experience preparing Requests for Proposals for banking or investment firm services.



  • Experience gathering financial data for preliminary official statements for debt financing, and preparing post-issuance continuing disclosures.




Other Skills and Abilities:

  • High-level computer literacy including proficiency with Microsoft Office.



  • Demonstrated ability to work with and organize complex data and prepare reports in professional formats.



  • Ability and willingness to work autonomously to organize work tasks and projects and to establish priorities to meet deadlines and achieve high quality work outcomes.



  • Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate working in a collaborative team environment, working effectively and respectfully with staff and outside professionals from diverse backgrounds.
