Job Description:


Oakton Community College is looking for an enthusiastic and innovative instructor for a 3D Printing & Manufacturing camp this summer. More than just fun and games, this program provides an introduction to engineering and manufacturing careers to students ages 12-14. Students will give their science, technology, engineering, and math skills a workout, while working with hands-on projects.

Teach 2 one-week sessions at our Skokie campus (7701 Lincoln Ave., Skokie, IL).

Week one: July 30-Aug. 2, 8:00am - 4:00pm

Week two: Aug. 6- Aug. 9, 8:00am - 4:00pm

Guide students through project-based learning from the research phase, to design and production, using curriculum provided by Nuts, Bolts and Thingamajigs and Manufacture Your Future.

Essential Functions of the Position:
  • Preparation of program learning activities and instructional materials (as appropriate),
  • Delivery of instruction, including being prepared for and meeting programs at scheduled times,
  • Compliance with departmental and institutional policies and procedures

Requirements:


Required Qualifications:
  • Experience teaching children ages 12-14
  • Preparation of course presentations and instructional materials
  • Experience with 3D printing technologies and troubleshooting
  • Understanding of manufacturing: processes, its place in history and impact on society
  • Knowledge of project-based curriculum design
  • Knowledge of the engineering design process
  • Compliance with departmental and institutional policies and procedures
  • Compliance with institutional procedures

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience teaching the manufacturing process and engineering design process.
  • Experience teaching project-based learning.

Additional Information:


Salary: $35 hourly
