Schedule: Availability to work 29 hours per week Monday through Friday between 12 and 6pm.

Job Description:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed below. 1) Interacts with faculty and staff in response to inquiries, concerns, and requests regarding distance education courses and issues.
2) Gathers information, analyze symptoms, accurately diagnose and resolve technical issues and/or redirect problems to appropriate resources.
3) Experience in instructional design, distance learning, web development, as well as troubleshooting and problem-solving learning management system (LMS) and/or computer-related technical issues.
4) Follows standard processes and procedures, and accurately record requests.
5) Collaborates with faculty and staff subject matter experts to help create high-quality online courses, video based content and programs that represent the most current, research-based ideas in a given industry and instructional/curricular strategies.
6) Ensures that Columbus State's vision and mission are reflected in all aspects of the student online experience.
7) Ensures course support and development is completed on time and meets standards of quality.
8) Models exceptional customer service, teamwork, and professionalism in the development/support process.
9) Familiarity with multimedia and web standards, web accessibility, and online copyright issues.
10) Works assigned schedule exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works outside of normal schedule as needed to meet workload demands.
11) Performs other related duties as required.

Usual Physical Demands: 
The incumbent of this position typically exhibits the physical demands identified in the Functional Job Analysis on file in the College’s Human Resources Department and which is periodically reviewed and updated. Physical demands listed in the Functional Job Analysis are not job qualification standards, but are used to help the College assess and determine reasonable accommodations for otherwise qualified individuals covered by the American’s with Disabilities Act.

While performing duties of this job, the employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into computer. The employee frequently sits for extended periods of time, and occasionally stands and walks. Employee regularly uses and reaches with hands and arms when operating computer and during presentations. The employee occasionally stoops, kneels and crouches while setting up presentation equipment. Employee converses verbally with others in person and by telephone. Vision demands include close, relatively detailed vision when focusing on a computer screen. Employee occasionally lifts up to 25 pounds.

Knowledge of: 
Broad understanding of relevant software computer applications and equipment; multimedia design; web development; customer service principles and practices. 

Skill in: 
Online technical support, planning, organizing and self-management; superior critical thinking, problem-solving, analysis and synthesis skills; computer skills including Microsoft Office, multimedia software applications, and the Internet; customer service skills in a higher education setting. 

Ability to:

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in instructional design, curriculum development, education, or a computer-related field. At least 1 year of experience in the related field. State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).

Preferred Qualifications: 
At least two years of online learning support experience in higher education; knowledge of learning theory, student learning styles, and adult learning models; experience with the Blackboard Learn learning management system, WebEx, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia Relay/Studio, audio/video editing and production, and/or mobile learning technologies.
