Counselor II/III, Student

The Division of Student Affairs is seeking candidates for the position of Counselor in Student Counseling Services to provide counseling services for students and to provide information regarding mental health services and programs.

Essential functions include, but are not limited to:

Intake assessment, individual counseling within a brief treatment framework, group counseling, supervision of Master's level practicum students, crisis intervention and consultation with faculty, staff and specifically the College of Veterinary Medicine patients and stakeholders, after-hour and weekend emergency coverage, demonstrated expertise in managing and treating grief issues, and campus outreach and program development.

Minimum Qualifications
Entry into the applicant pool requires a Master's degree from an accredited institution in Education, counseling, or relevant field. Two (2) years experience in providing counseling and psychological services.

Desired Qualifications
Desired qualifications include: a Ph.D. in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an APA-Accredited institution; completion of an APA-Accredited Pre-Doctoral Internship; additional years experience in providing counseling and psychological services to a college student population; licensed or license eligible as a psychologist in the State of Alabama.
