COLLECTOR, MIT Federal Credit Union (MITFCU) (2 openings), to initiate collection activities on consumer loans including auto loans, home equity loans, credit cards, overdraft privilege, and negative share accounts in accordance with MITFCU polices and applicable collection laws. Responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining assigned delinquent portfolio and making various collection action recommendations; documenting collection activities and maintaining appropriate records; providing administrative support to the department including preparing a variety of reports on a scheduled and as needed basis including various monthly financial reports; following applicable policies and procedures that pertain to revoked VISA and overdraft privilege accounts; researching bankruptcy proceedings and communicating with attorneys as necessary regarding member intentions; maintaining and monitoring suspension of services programs for the Credit Union; responding to, researching, and resolving a variety of members account issues in a timely manner; handling GAP (guaranteed auto protection) claims and monthly reconciliation of claims issued to members; filing loan disability claims; processing attorney payments on charged off loans; and maintaining government monitoring tracking on inactive collection accounts (1099C).

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: a minimum of two years' experience in collections; a minimum of two years' credit union or banking experience; working knowledge of collecting past due accounts and related collection laws; familiarity with skip tracking and other collection resources; superior member service skills; clear/concise verbal and written communication skills; and working knowledge of personal computers. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with auto repossession is preferred. Job #15992-4 4/27/18
