Program Coordinator- University Health Services

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for the maintenance of the Student Health Insurance Waiver system including, development of form letters and correspondence, interpretation, updating, verification of information submitted and resolution of waiver discrepancies for the more than 25,000 students that do not want the Student Health Insurance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • All issues related to the Insurance Waiver system for all University of Cincinnati students
  • Additions/deletion/changes to student insurance coverage
  • Verification of students' benefits under other insurance plans
  • Auditing all waiver cards received from students
  • Assist in the design and implementation of procedures for quality control
  • Assist students will insurance issues including, claim submission forms, Explanation of Benefits and provider billing statements
  • Explain insurance benefits to students, providers and other interested parties
  • Conduct investigations and resolve discrepancies in insurance coverage
  • Receive and respond to appeal letters from parents and students
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor degree with one (1) year of experience; -OR- Associate degree with three (3) years of experience; -OR- Five (5) years of experience. Experience must be in program coordination.

Preferred Qualifications : Three (3) years of overall work experience with two (2) years being in a relevant administrative area. Excellent verbal and written communications skills, excellent team work skills, excellent time management and organization skills, ability to work independently.

Computer Skills Proficiency in Outlook and Microsoft Office programs, including but not limited to Excel and Access. Familiarity with Epic, Point & Click, and Med+Proctor a plus.

This position will be a professional position paid at an hourly rate.
