Instructor & Business Teaching Program Coordinator

Position Description:

Reporting to the Department of Management Head and working with department heads, faculty, and staff in the College of Business Administration and the College of Education, this faculty position includes serving as the Business Teaching Program Coordinator. Responsibilities include teaching and advising business teaching students, and providing leadership for meeting the Department of Education requirements for the business teaching curriculum. In addition, this position will increase presence of the University throughout the state by offering financial literacy for-credit courses that transfer to UNI as well as provide professional development continuing education summer programs to business and economics teachers throughout the state. This is an academic year plus two months position (11 months total).

Education Requirements:

Master's degree in teaching from a nationally accredited institution required.

  • Minimum of five years of grades 5-12 teaching experience



  • Teaching qualification in business teaching. The successful candidate must have appropriate and applicable preparation, knowledge, experiences and skills in order to teach candidates to meet the 5-12 business endorsement



  • Evidence of strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills



  • Demonstrated organizational, prioritization, and time management skills



  • Ability to work as part of a leadership team and use discretion regarding student academic affairs



  • Ability to provide vision and leadership for the business teaching program



  • Ability to help with marketing and advertising the Business Teaching Program



Desirable Qualifications:

Preference will be given to applicants who possess a background in technology integration.
