PLATFORMS AND GROWTH EDITOR, MIT Technology Review (MITTR), to be responsible for making MITTR's esteemed science and technology journalism reach more people. Will oversee distribution of editorial and event content on platforms beyond the website and own MITTR's presence across social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.). Editorial responsibilities include developing, executing, and iterating on growth strategies; analyzing traffic and referral data; working with editors on proactive distribution methods for their stories and on making stories more social-friendly; and performing additional duties as needed. Event responsibilities include social media promotion and live coverage of MITTR events like the EmTech conferences. Will coordinate with all MITTR divisions to ensure that its voice on all off-platform communication is consistent with the brand while being appropriate to each platform.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: one-plus years' newsroom experience; demonstrated ability to grow a news audience and engage readers; experience monitoring, extracting insights from, and developing strategy using digital analytics and social media management tools (e.g., Chartbeat, Omniture, SocialFlow, Parse.ly, Google Analytics, Facebook Insights); news writing, editing and headline writing skills; understanding of and experience maintaining high journalistic ethics/standards, including objectivity, balance, and fairness; interested in technology and science news; proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, Photoshop, Audition, After Effects); and deep understanding of the social multimedia landscape. Seek organize, proactive individual who can tell complex stories in simple, understandable ways and is able to handle multiple and complex projects simultaneously under stringent timeframes and changing priorities/conditions. Editorial experience in a newsroom, preferably one focused on technology or science, would be ideal. B.S. in journalism, technology, or related field preferred; as is experience with multimedia production. Job #15973-N

Must be able and willing to work varied shifts as determined by the news cycle, including possible early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
