Position Summary:
Precision genomic medicine is a paradigm shift in medical practice, in which information gained from analyzing an individual's genomic and epigenomic variants will be used routinely, together with the assessment of environmental and clinical factors, to identify and manage presymptomatic health risks, facilitate the diagnosis of existing disorders, refine prognostic predictions, and guide treatment choices throughout life. The UW Center for Human Genomics and Precision Medicine (CHGPM) was established in late 2017 to enable the University of Wisconsin to become a leader in this new discipline. The CHGPM will be located in new and renovated space at the School of Medicine and Public Health and is expected to grow to include 16 core members as well as additional affiliated faculty from multiple departments and schools on the University of Wisconsin - Madison campus. The CHGPM's multifaceted approach to genomic medicine will encompass basic, translational and clinical research as well as educational activities and community outreach.

The Assistant Director will provide administrative leadership, overall programmatic and operational support and oversee the effective management of the multiple and complex fiscal and human resources needed to accomplish the educational, research, and clinical missions of the UW Center for Human Genomics and Precision Medicine (CHGPM). Under the direction of the Director of the CHGPM, the Assistant Director will interact with the leadership of the School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH), UW Hospitals and Clinics (UWHC), the American Family's Children Hospital, UW Medical Foundation (UWMF), Clinical and Basic Science Departments, Institutes and Centers, and the Center Faculty. This position is directly responsible to the Director for the administration of the center's finances.

This position ensures that the Director is apprised of and fully utilizes potential resources and opportunities. This position ensures that the Director is cautioned when conflicts or threats may develop and is informed of the most expedient administrative course to follow.

Additional Information:
