Senior Benefits Specialist - Human Resources


About the Human Resource Benefits Office

The Human Resources (HR) Benefits Office supports all university constituencies. In directing the benefit programs for the university, our goal is to review, analyze, develop, implement, communicate and manage a competitive, flexible and financially sound benefits package for active and retired faculty and staff. In addition, the HR Benefits Office is responsible for monitoring state and federal legislation changes and implementing appropriate benefit/system changes. This Sr. Benefits Specialist is responsible for administering a portfolio of benefits under general supervision. The ideal candidate for this position enjoys working independently but collaboratively and will possess the competencies and functional/technical abilities as listed below as normally acquired through five (5) or more years of experience working in a Benefits position.


Qualifications:

Functional/Technical Abilities:
  • Experience managing benefit contracts.
  • Knowledge of benefits programs and laws.
  • Experience working with HR information systems to administer benefits.
  • Experience preparing and presenting benefits information to employees.
  • Experience auditing or reconciling benefits information with vendor(s).
  • Experience with project management systems or practices. (Preferred)
  • Experience working with case management systems. (Preferred)

Special Work Schedule Requirements:
Main campus is Medford; Requires travel to and from various campus locations (Boston and Grafton).
