Student Loan Representative

STUDENT LOAN REPRESENTATIVE, MIT Federal Credit Union (MITFCU) (2 openings), to coordinate and monitor all processes and activities of the student loan program. Responsibilities include acting as the primary contact for students, members, university personnel, vendors, and other parties regarding student loan products and services; ensuring understanding from student borrowers regarding their student loan bills, including payment, terms, interest, and billing cycles; communicating the credit union's student loan policy and procedures to members and other parties involved in the loan process, from origination to servicing, including Credit Union Student Choice, Campus Door, University Accounting Services and ReliaMax Surety Company; tracking and monitoring member student loan accounts and resolving any related delays or issues that arise; preparing and compiling various monthly reports associated with student loan accounts; troubleshooting loan funding disbursement issues during peak times and throughout the academic year, working on resolving returned payments from Student Financial Services, and tracking down missing payments; and acting as a primary contact on the MITFCU student lending process as well as other student loan federal programs, consolidation programs, and funding options.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: a minimum of two years' experience in higher education student loan banking; experience in higher education and with various student loans including federal government loans; knowledge of FAFSA and other funding options available to students; superior member service skills and ability to form long-term business relationships; excellent internal service skills; clear, concise verbal and written communication skills; and working knowledge of personal computers. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, experience with student loan financial services, and a bachelor's degree are preferred. Job #15869-53/29/18
