Degree and area of specialization:
An earned research doctorate in nursing or related field is required. If the doctorate is not in nursing, the candidate must have a graduate degree in nursing.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Two years of academic leadership experience is required. Must have a record demonstrating leadership in the area of nursing research, significant contributions in research within a complex, research-intensive university, and a successful history of funding research. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to participate and lead collaborative, interdisciplinary groups and foster a culture that supports innovative research programs spanning knowledge creation, translation, dissemination, and impact. Candidates should have exceptional conceptualization, organizational management, and leadership skills.

The successful candidate must maintain an active program of research.

Qualifications must be sufficient to meet requirements for tenure at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

License or Certificate:
Current RN licensure in Wisconsin (or eligibility) is required.

Position Summary:
The Associate Dean for Research and Sponsored Programs reports to the Dean of the School of Nursing (SoN) and serves as the Chief Research Officer for the SoN. The Associate Dean works to advance the quality and integrity of its research programs, providing strategic vision, developing processes and procedures to support grant management and compliance processes, and providing consultation and technical assistance to faculty, staff, students, and partners in the development of research proposals to advance the school's mission. The Associate Dean is responsible for providing overall leadership and oversight for matters related to research innovation, compliance, and advancement.

Additional Information:
This position is required to have a concurrent faculty appointment.

To become tenured, the candidate's qualifications must be sufficient to meet the requirements for tenure at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, at the rank of Associate Professor or above. We seek candidates who are tenured or who have the qualifications necessary to become tenured at UW-Madison in any health sciences profession.
