Storekeeper II

Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Storekeeper II.

Primary Job Duties: Under general supervision, receives, stores, and distributes supplies, materials and equipment while ensuring policies, procedures, and assignments are followed. Coordinates and is involved in campus events set-ups as well as campus office moves. Leads daily operations of shipping and receiving department: Receives, verifies, and inspects shipments from carriers. Checks in orders according to delivery documentation, purchase orders, requisitions and processes receiving documents. Ensures proper tagging of equipment, documentation, filing, record keeping and entering receiving data into the computer system (PeopleSoft). Coordinates proper delivery of and/or delivers shipments, supplies, materials, and equipment to designated locations on the campus. Leads student employees with delivery duties and work flow. Prepares and ships packages for the campus. Prepares daily and monthly reports. Controls placement of new inventory and organizes warehouse preparing for new inventory and daily shipments. Assists with courier operations and inventory duties. Responsible for vehicle and equipment maintenance/cleanliness/repairs/request replacement.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma/GED and two years of related work experience. Must possess a valid non-commercial Class C or equivalent driver's license with 5 or less points for moving violations.

Preferred Qualifications: Certification for Fork Lift Operation preferred.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Use of Computers for e-mail and PeopleSoft data entry for receiving purposes. General knowledge of the procedures and practices of issuing and storing supplies, materials, and equipment. Skill in operating warehouse material handling equipment. Ability to perform basic mathematics; to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to follow directions; to provide guidance and instruction to others; to operate computers and other standard office equipment; to establish and maintain effective work relationships; to perform extensive standing, walking, and climbing; to lift, transport and stock assigned supplies and materials; to wear and work in personal protective equipment.

This is a full-time, non-exempt, State position with a full benefits package. Starting salary is $30,962 annually, which is approximately $14.84 per hour. This position is considered essential and will be called upon to provide emergency coverage when necessary.
