Desktop Support Associate

IT ASSOCIATE, Political Science (part-time, 20 hrs/wk.), to provide computer support for all users in the department. Will maintain and upgrade departmental IT systems, including PCs and Macs, printers, scanners, VoIP phones, and other peripherals; respond to and resolve technical issues; provide mobile device support; install upgrades; be responsible for patches and security fixes to maintain a secure computing environment; maintain conference/classroom video and audio equipment; ensure that the computer lab remains tidy and that all machines are updated and secure; train faculty and staff to use equipment and basic software; keep abreast of developments in software, online resources, and web applications that support academic work; maintain a database of all computers, operating systems, and installed software; and perform other duties as assigned. Will perform duties with minimal supervision and report to the IT manager.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: three years' experience providing technical support in a medium-to-large-scale computing environment; excellent interpersonal, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills; in-depth understanding of Windows and Mac OS; strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills; and ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies. A bachelor's degree a related field is preferred. Job #15844-5
