Brief Position Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to help provide robust legacy support for the Banner modules utilized by Middlebury College (Student, Student Financial Services, Payroll, Position Control, Benefits, Advancement).
This position will also provide consulting and analytical support for the team implementing Middlebury's next-generation ERP system.

Essential Functions:

Resolves production support issues (critical and non-critical) related to Banner INB or Banner SSB.

Makes emergency changes to Banner INB (scripts, job submissions) or Banner Self-Service to support critical business processes related to Position Control, Benefits, Payroll, Finance and Student Financial Services.

Utilizes knowledge of Middlebury technical stack and the software development life cycle (SDLC) to ensure offered solutions fit into ITS vision and direction while meeting client goals.

Ensure minimal disruption of delivery of services and minimal risk of data breaches by implementing industry best practices and meeting security and compliance guidelines.

Provides performance and capacity planning analysis; identifies, diagnoses and resolves bottlenecks and other sub-optimal activity.

Provide regular reports of application/system performance and activity to workgroup and ITS administration to assist in planning and assessment.

Perform other duties as assigned to assist the department in maintaining its mission and deliver required services.

Must be able to effectively utilize Ellucian support, Ellucian SNOW and Ellucian ecommunities sites to research issues and download patch or upgrade documentation.

Must be able to effectively provide coordination between functional users and Ellucian staff on support issues or upgrade/patch requests.

Must be able to work cooperatively with other technical and functional users and accept direction from supervisors.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in technology field or equivalent experience.

Knowledge:
Extensive knowledge of the principles, design and implementation of Ellucian Banner INB data and processes.

Ability to apply best practices in business process improvement

Knowledge of best practices for testing and quality assurance.

Excellent SQL skills

Strong technical writing skills

Strong technical aptitude

Strong analytical skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge of generally accepted best practice project management skills

Familiar with best practice security protocols and safe computing practices.

Experience:
10+ years of progressive experience with demonstrated success in supporting most or all of the following from the technical side: Banner Position Control, Payroll, Student Financial Services, Benefits, Finance, Student.

Experience in the design, implementation and hands-on management of substantial and complex IT applications, systems and infrastructure is desired.

Experience with or extensive knowledge of data integration techniques and technologies is desired.

5+ years experience working extensively with a variant of SQL is required.
