Brief Summary:
Marist College invites applications for the newly created position of Title IX Investigator.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the general supervision of the Title IX Coordinator and Deputy Title IX Coordinator, the Investigator will work to ensure Marist College complies with the above-mentioned state and federal laws pertaining to gender-based violence and discrimination in a higher education setting. The Title IX Investigator is responsible for providing intake on cases, conducting investigations, preparing reports, and fostering an environment that encourages respect. S/he will also assist in developing, delivering, and managing prevention-based education and outreach.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Law, and Criminal Justice required; Master's degree in related field preferred. A minimum of 1-3 years of professional experience in Title IX compliance, law, human resources, student life, student conduct, law enforcement or similar field, required. Must either possess a Title IX Investigator certification as administered by the Association of Title IX Administrators or obtain it soon after the start of employment.
The successful candidate will possess strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, along with demonstrated ability to design and deliver training and education for varying constituents. Excellent organizational skills with a meticulous attention to detail is essential. Experience in conducting trauma-sensitive investigations in a higher education setting strongly preferred.
