Program Coordinator - Student Affairs

Join the Student Activities and Leadership Development team and help support the student experience at the University of Cincinnati. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to advise a driven, diverse, student led board that allocates funding to more than 400 eligible student organizations.



The Program Coordinator of Student Activities & Leadership Development (SALD) is a full-time professional staff member reporting to the Assistant Director of SALD. They will assist in the supervision, promotion and management of the University Funding Board that allocates over $600,000 to more than 450 registered organizations. The Program Coordinator will be the primary contact for the University Funding Board and will maintain budget oversight of the University Funding Board and provide guidance to students within those organizations. The Program Coordinator will also be responsible for creating and executing individual office goals for Student Activities & Leadership Development.



University Funding Board
  • Work with UFB to establish clear financial guidelines for registered student organizations
  • Update criteria, funding request forms, funding facts packet and assessment forms as new information is available
  • Attend weekly UFB funding allocation meetings to help maintain order and ensure that funding criteria are being followed
  • Before the start of budget meetings, ensure that all student organizations are registered and in good standing with UFB and Student Activities Board and ensure that an agenda for the order of meeting is available
  • Oversee the allocation process for Academic Intercollegiate Competition organizations
  • Report approved events or conferences to SALD office as well as UFB CampusLINK site and 6th floor bulletin board
  • Provide feedback to student organization advisors about the funding process
  • Attend and help facilitate new member retreat
  • Work in collaboration with administrative coordinators to ensure proper budget allocation and processing
  • Conduct assessment for UFB and UFB funded student organizations in collaboration with SALD leadership
  • Conduct weekly 1 on 1 meetings with UFB leadership
  • Attend annual overnight UFB retreat
  • Maintain budget records for the University Academic Intercollegiate Competition Team



Student Organizations, Programming, and Initiatives
  • Advise the University Funding Board (21 students that facilitate budget allocations to 450+ registered student organizations)
  • Oversee the internal budget allocation for the University Funding Board ($10,000)
  • Assist in the development and coordination of all financial trainings for student organizations including but not limited to: how to prepare a budget, fundraising and bank accounts
  • Collaborate with the Student Activities Board advisor and Club Sports in supporting student organizations through the funding process for more than 450 student organziations





Other Responsibilities
  • Serve on division and campus committees, including the Lead and Grow Grant committee
  • Participate in professional development through the University of Cincinnati, as well as other relevant local, regional and national organizations
  • Other duties as assigned



Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with one (1) year experience; -OR- Associate's degree with three (3) years experience; -OR- five (5) years experience. Experience must be in program coordination.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge of student development and leadership theories
  • Knowledge in best practices related to student leadership programs
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively one-on-one, in small groups, and in public speaking contexts
  • Practice in assessing programs
  • Master s degree in college student personnel, counseling, education or related field
