Executive Director, Gender Equity & Inclusion

The Division of Equity, Inclusion & Community Impact is seeking to fill an Executive Director for Gender Equity & Inclusion position, which will serve as the university's Title IX Coordinator. Reporting to the Vice President, the Executive Director will guide efforts to conceptualize, define, assess, nurture, and cultivate UC's objective in achieving an open, diverse, equitable and inclusive learning, living and working environment by ensuring compliance with Title IX, Title VII and other Equal Opportunity laws at both the State and Federal levels.

Primary Responsibilities : Responsible for day-to-day application and review of University policies and practices as it relates to Title IX, Title VII and other Equal Opportunity laws at both the State and

Federal levels.

Coordinate response, prevention, and education initiatives pursuant to Title IX and related statutes and regulations and disseminate information of implementation requirements.

Oversee institution-wide compliance programs and activities related to Title IX including developing and monitoring Title IX educational programming.

Develop, implement and oversee a communication plan regarding gender equity and inclusion matters for the division.

Provide consultation and campus-wide strategy to senior management at the university on all Title IX related matters.

Administer and oversee Title IX case management plan for reported incidents to ensure timely, impartial and thorough investigations of complaints in collaboration and consultation with internal partners and others to ensure accurate and consistent application of university policies and practices.

Document facts, analyze findings, summarize investigation and make recommendations that ensure the safety of the impacted reporting party and the community.

Collaborate with university divisions to develop and facilitate safety and advocacy programs that provide guidance and support to students, faculty and staff as well as university colleges and units, and serve as Liaison Officer to state and federal government compliance or investigation officers.

Advise and collaborate with colleagues and others as appropriate, on the status of initiatives, case management trends, challenges and resource needs.

Supervise exempt and non-exempt staff.

Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor's degree with a minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in College Student Personnel, Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, Legal Studies, Counseling, Human Resources, Equal Opportunity, Social Work or a related field.

Candidates with a master's degree or a terminal degree in a relevant field with seven (7) years or more of progressive experience will receive preferential consideration.

A minimum of three years of supervisory experience in the relevant fields noted above.

Experience and/or training in responding to complaints of gender-based harassment and gender-based violence as well as complaint investigation, resolution and grievances.

Trauma informed training preferred.

Experience collaborating with departments to develop campus/company-wide strategies for the implementation of prevention programs.

Experience dealing with the specialized needs and concerns of marginalized communities and their experiences with gender-based violence.

The successful candidate must have strong organization, planning, analytical and problem resolution abilities; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to understand the needs of the campus and work to collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, administrators and community partners.
