The Quality Assurance Department at Hoxworth Blood Center provides regulatory and quality oversight for all processes at the Center. The desired candidate for the Quality Assurance Specialist will assist with the development of new and revised department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), perform audits, analyze data, report results, assist with process validations, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. The candidate will be responsible for test result notification to donors, blood product consignees, and applicable regulatory agencies (eg. State Health Dept, FDA). The ideal candidate will have experience with the following standards or regulations: 21 CFR Parts 210, 211, 600, 601, 606, 607, 610, 630, 640, 660, 42 CFR Part 493, and AABB Standards. The ideal candidate is organized, consistently meets deadlines, is adaptable to changing priorities, and has excellent interpersonal skills. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor degree with one (1) year of experience in the clinical laboratory or FDA-regulated environment. Associate's degree with three (3) years of experience in the clinical laboratory or FDA-regulated environment.
