ANNUAL (12 months)

Degree and area of specialization:
DVM or equivalent degree with advanced training in veterinary dentistry and oral surgery.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Advanced training in dentistry and oral surgery required.

Large animal/equine and/or zoologic species dental experience is preferred but not required.

License or Certificate:
Must maintain a Wisconsin license to practice veterinary medicine.

Board certified or board eligible in the American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC) and European Veterinary Dental College (EVDC) is necessary.


Position Summary:
This is a full-time clinical instructor position in the Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery section with the Department of Surgical Sciences. This position will be part of a current team of two AVDC diplomats and three residents providing clinical service to the dentistry and oral surgery section within the Small Animal Hospital of UW Veterinary Care on the UW Madison Campus. The annual caseload for the small animal hospital is over 24,000 patients with 4-5 dental and/or orofacial procedures performed daily.

Applicants will also be considered who are eligible to take the AVDC or EVDC board certifying examination.
