Job Summary:
This is an entry level position providing technical support to the daily operational needs of the Small Animal Area of the UW Veterinary care (UWVC). Requires the ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs. independently and physical and manual dexterity to perform specialized technical tasks. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
1) Learns and develops proficiency of technical skills utilized in the area for quality patient care.
2) Participates in review of inpatient cases/treatments and gives assistance where needed.
3) Develops the ability to anticipate and initiate the needs of Clinical Faculty and staff during procedures/daily operational needs.
The work is performed under direct supervision.

Requirements:
Certification as Wisconsin Veterinary Technician or Eligibility to Obtain

Additional Requirements:
Ability to function calmly in stressful situations and to work cooperatively with other people. Requires
the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs independently and physical and manual dexterity to perform
specialized technical tasks.

Vet Tech 1 Pay Range: $15.34-$25.51
Vet Tech 2 Pay Range: $16.61-$27.58
Vet Tech 3 Pay Range: $17.97-$29.83
