Depending on Qualifications

Degree and area of specialization:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required, Master's degree preferred. A focus on recreation, sports administration, higher education, or related field is preferred.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
A minimum of two (2) years professional experience in a collegiate recreational sports setting is preferred. Demonstrated leadership in customer service, communication, and problem solving skills are required.

Position Summary:
This position reports to the Assistant Director of Scheduling & Special Events for the Division of Recreational Sports.

The Division of Recreational Sports at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking a dynamic, energetic, goal-oriented, and innovative leader within the field of higher education and collegiate recreation. The Coordinator of Scheduling & Special Events is a full-time employee under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Scheduling & Special Events. This person is responsible for the scheduling of all indoor and outdoor facilities, contracting and managing events. S/he will oversee the creation of a special event student staff with the opening of new facilities; including, but not limited to, hiring, training, development, scheduling and evaluating student employees. S/he will assist the Assistant Director of Scheduling & Special Events with the development of the annual budget. S/he works directly with professional and student staff to plan and coordinate activities and assess problems and develop solutions.
