Coordinator of Athletics Communication

The Department of Athletics at Messiah College has an immediate opening for the position of Coordinator of Athletics Communication.

 

Responsibilities:  This full-time position is responsible for providing information to national and conference offices, opponents, Messiah College publics, and news outlets regarding the athletics program. The Coordinator of Athletics Communication serves as a role model in meeting our complimentary goals of “Pursuing Athletics Excellence and Developing Christian Character.”

 

Qualifications: Master’s Degree (preferred fields of study include Athletic Administration, Sports Journalism, and/or Sport Management) and a minimum of one-year experience in writing and statistics.

 

Skills and Characteristics: Ability to administer components of sports information work (e.g., statistics, news media, web site, publications); ability to train student workers to aid in meeting sports information needs; ability to speak and write appropriately and develop marketing strategies to reach regional and national media and supporters; demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the stages of student development and the importance of holistic education; and demonstrate a commitment to continued learning/professional development (e.g., presentations, publications, serving on regional and/or national committees).
